Hi,

Ive just got a Scorpion backbox for the GSI only to find it doesnt fit because the centre pipe is apparently too short. Its a `95 GSI C20XE, so its the 3 hanger setup? Am i missing something really obvious?

cheers

i believe the scorpian backboxes are made to work with scorpian mid-sections only. did you buy the backbox 2nd hand? if you did, then the previous owner obviously decided to keep that fact from you. if you bought it from a company, get on the phone!

This happened to me when i bought a backbox off mig, Guy didnt tell me he cut the bloody thing off 2 inches from the back of the backbox. it was useless so i just clamped the tailpipe on the end.

you could always get a reducing sleeve made up by a local welding shop. i dont recomend going to specialst places as the cost a pretty penny. just go ask your local welder if he can do it for you.

you can buy small 'extender' pipes from exhaust suppliers like Chester Exhaust Supplies (maybe worth seeing if there is something similar local to you)

last 1 i got was only about £4
