Right, found out my engine is going to take me more to fix then is worth..... I dont want to bin the car, mainly as a mate of mine might be letting me have a V6!

What I want to double check is that I have my shopping list sorted out here.

- o/s engine mount from V6 calibra (know where 2 are!)
- Big block legs (again, can get my hands on!)
- engine loom & box.
- Big block drive shafts.
- Better rad. (big block one!!)
- Calibra heater hoses.

Anyone know of anything else that i'd need to do in order to do this?? I remeber seeing a site where they moved the rad forwards by cutting the front pannel and moving it forwards (thought I bookmarked it and turns out that I didn't!) hints and tips please

I see a few peeps have done this, sounds a nice mod for a light car like the astra, but is it mentally cramped in there ?, which V6 are peeps using.

Thought that it would be, SRi's look pretty much the same as the rest of them, just have the option of a V6

Vectra is a nice fit in the Astra

Vectra V6 is what we've put in Claire's  Slightly more tricky than the cav/cally V6, but looks better imo.

1 piece of advice I would offer is to get the proper heater hoses from Roose for a C25XE conversion into a MK3 as saves so much hassle

What radiator would be best to use?

Trying to do it nice n cheap alex so im sure I could bodge something together for now!!

Is it necessary to move the rad & crossmember forwards or can I leave it as is?

Any 1.8 or 2.0 rad will do it, we'v got the standard 2.0 sport one in Claire's, had to cut the plastic tabs off the top of it so we could slide it under the slam panel.

We tried bodging the hoses as well but they are different diameters between the 4 ctlinder ones and the V6 ones  Unless you can find some cav/cally V6 heater hoses. Just for info the 2 hoses from Roose cost us £40 iirc (was cheaper than VX)

Coolio, how did you attach it to the car if you cut the tabs off??

I can get my hands on some calibra heater pipes.

goodie, did you cut the front pannel to move the rad forwards or is it worth getting a slimline fan on the front?
