HI all, when I am driving at night and use the indicators, when they turn themselves off as the steering wheel is back to level, the high beam comes on and to turn it off i just tap the blinker stalk.

Even if I haven't used the indicators, high beam can suddenly come on.

It doesn't matter if it's the left or right indicator, high beam doesn't care it comes on and I'm not sure exactly which part is in need of replacement and if it's an easy peasy job too?

It's not too bad as we are in daylight savings but I'd like to have this sorted before winter ... and there are no mk3's to be found at the local scrappies so I'd need to source any parts from the uk.

Cheers

Marty

sounds like a dodgy connection in the indicator stalk to me, easy to change

well i hope you sort it mate, my dad say's take your time when changing it, like when you did your heater relay :)

sounds like its sticking. you should be able to get a stalk from a breakers no problem, although i dont know what car breaking is like is oz so may not work lol

There's plenty of wrecker's down here but the problem is that there's a shortage of MK3's and the wreckers never have any to pilfer ...

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated, and DJ, I will take my time and do a good job of it

Well I purchased the part from Vaux-World and it cost me AU$26 (including Insurance), a mere fraction of the cost had I purchased the part from GM Aust .... it arrived from the UK in a record 4 or 5 days and I swapped the old part out and fitting the new part was fairly easy.

I tested it and so far so good!

Thanks for everybody's help ;)

Well at least it's sorted, and not too expensive either, way to go...............

Fair enough, as long as you've not forgotten us ;)

How could anyone possible forget such an awesome forum such as this one?

The problem is me ... I get "forumed out" pretty easy.

And regarding me not having a diary ... I must check into that, how to do it and stuff ... I'm not a real "car" person and I'm not sure what I would put in the diary, but I will look into it.
