RE: fibre glass

Need to be using quite a lot of fibre glass soon as im doing kit smoothing and repairs and what not. Need to know if anyone recommends any stuff in particular? or anywhere that sells it at a really good price. Cheers

If your after the proper resin and chopped strand matt then look at these suppliers:

Dont waste your time with the kits from halfords.

what exactly are you gonna be doing mate? Repairing fibreglass bumpers ?

Yeah got a bit of fibreglass lower skirt to fix, but i also want to do some smoothing on my bumpers.. im not sure if there is anything better to use to do that.

To repair fibreglass you`ll need to get:

A gallon or so of general purpose resin
A good few meters of chopped strand matting
Catalyst, usually comes with free with the resin
Brushes, mixing pots and sticks
A gallon of acetone for cleaning brushes and the fibreglass your repairing
Latex gloves

For smoothing bumpers, your best off using as little body filler as you can get away with so theres less chance of it cracking. Its not so bad using it on a full fibreglass splitter or bumper though.
