The niece's seat belt clip keeps letting go. I can't see a way of just replacing the clip alone, as it's got that funky pretensioner system.

Do you need to swap the entire seat subframe over?

I've got a broken subframe, can I strip the parts off that, or does it not really break down?

On the Astra Ed? If so yes, the pre-tensioner unbolts from the seat frame, easy peasy. You're supposed to fit the little yellow (or red?) fork into the space provided in the cylinder, while you're working on it- to stop massive explosions

Yeah it's an Astra, not mine of course. I looked at my old frame today as I was fitting my posh seats, but didn't look like it would dismantle much.

Just undo the big bolt at the base of the clip and I think the cylinder/ cable just unclips from the subframe.

It was getting the pretensioner canister thing off the other side that looked confusing. There is a rivet at one end.

Or does the cable come off the buckle/clip?

Reading labels is for girls, and people who don't want to accidentally blow their testicals off while attacking a safety belt pretensioner with a hatchet.

...I might read the label..

Are there any mk3 Astras on earth without the yellow tag sticking out?
Mine failed an MOT on it last week - not had that before.
