How can I replace the interior light in my sport from one with the little button to de-active the interior sensors to a smoked one with map lights from a Vectra?

If you want to keep the button, you don't.

Don't mind so much about loosing it tbh, found my smoked interior light in my garage and would prefer that in the car!

If I work out which ones on the current interior light are + & -, can I wire those to the Vectra interior light and then the other 2 from the small pug out of the way?

It's red and grey for the light, cutting the other 2 can be done, mine was like that when I got it.
So can I just cut the plug off and use red and grey? then tuck the others up out the way?
Yes, but clearly you're crippling the alarm a bit.
You'll need an earth up there too, else the map lights will only work with a door open.

What about powering the map lights of the glove box light?
And also someone just suggested this, what about getting the alarm sensors from another kit? say toad ones, could they be wired to the wires for the standard sensor? or maybe even one from a Calibra as they have them in that little unit thing like this:

Doubt you'll be able to change their power source really, I expect they'll share the feed with the normal light. All that'd be required for an earth is a short wire to one of the screw hole in the roof, peasy.
No idea if the cally sensor would work or not, but since it has 2 of them it might be a different system.

Makes sense to me. Not that I've ever seen the wiring for the map lights though!
