Sluggish 1.4

Try unplugging the MAF sensor and see what difference it makes.

will do, going out shortly so will see if that helps.

best place to start is the bad leads surely?

Normally it would be however I need to start at the actuall problem, I cant afford to fix loads of things before finding whats wrong with it.

Noisey fuel pump is prob becasue its straining itself becos filter is blocked and filter blocked= no full which = running lean which = higher temp

change the fuel filter mate there only about £5 posted off fleabay

Trade club discount at Vaux dude, get it from them TODAY

Mines the same at the mo m8 could well be the fuel filter aint add chance to get under there yet plus does yours kangeroo when driving along?

No, not really!!

Also I think that I figured out whats wrong, someone on MIG mentioned that the coil might have broken down and this would show by 2 plugs being clean and proper and 2 being soiled............. well funnily enough I just put some new plugs in, 2 were clean and 2 were black n sooty.

FAIL

Changed the coil and still same problem, checked compression and theyre all 110psi (round about that is!!) now my brain says that the cat is partially blocked, creating too much back preassure but not enough to kill the engine.

According to the guy I borrowed it from above 100 is good.

Shut, and till it stopped going up.

Any chance I could be cheeky and ask you to pop that coil over to me tonight so that I can test is please mate.

Do it again with the throttle wide open.

And you can be cheeky, however I am well and truly tied up tonight

Just thought to look on the EPC and they have different part numbers, so not sure it would be any good... if your existing one has 4 pins on the plug it might fit.

It does however im quite sure that its not the coil now..... just got home from driving back from the in laws (couple miles up the road!!) and it was quite warm, however I noticed that the exhaust was rather loud, stuck my hand up behind the pipe and its blowing a gale!! Perhaps there is something in the exhaust thats blocked?? Perhaps my luck has changed and the backbox is blocked up???? Or not then it'll be the cat.

Oh well ill have to go borrow it again at the weekend. Did it with the throttle closed. However the guy told me that 100psi is ok, anything below needs checking.

Still im more interested in why the exhaust now has so much pressure at the pipe!! I think that its blocked up and causing too much back pressure and then letting it out, hence why its not coming out smoothly and so powerfully!!

Yeah, but not as much as this though!! Feels like I have a massive engine attached to a tiny pipe!! also sounds like it too.

Parked it over a puddle and despite it was about a foot away it was blowing the water away. Normally it wouldnt make a ripple!

he is right sounds like he has a big bore when he has a slandered back box lol hope you find whats wrong soon bud
