speedo reading

ive got some new clocks fitted but the mileages is about 7000 miles under what its should be, anyone know where i can get it changed to the correct mileage

You can take the speedo/mileage dial bit out of your old clocks and put them into the new ones. iirc its 4 small phillps or torx screw on the back and the mileage bit will lift out.

where abouts in Kent are you?

havent got the old clocks any more, got changed ages ago but where its in the garage i never bothered sorting it out, but as im getting it back soon i thought i better get it sorted.

Ah right, ive heard you can click the numbers round but never tried it. Not far from me then, im down by crittals corner.

yea but i think it just goes wonky if its done correctly and then looks like its been clocked lol, even thou im putting more milleage on it. yea not far at all mate

Why bother? Does not affect the MOT, would only be a problem if you were to sell it and did not tell the buyer that the mileage was not correct.
I changed my clocks and the new clocks were 20,000 less than the old one, I just knocked off the 20,000 so I still know when the cam belt is due for a change, and it passed the MOT on Thursday...................

what about the dvla, they wont ask why the mileage is different?

How will the Dvla know what mileage you have on your clocks?..

you could allways jack the front end up and leave it running in fifth gear, might take a while though to clock the mileage back up..

just use a battery drill and on the end of the speedo cable (the end thats in the gearbox ) to run it up mate but i would just put them in as they are

You can pull the pin out of the odometer, rearrange the numbers and push the pin back

Yes but goes wonky unless you have mk2 lcd this is very easy to clock. Drill it or leave it imho, There is no harm in leaving it that is what i would do.J
