Right then peeps, what im woundering is i have a mk3 astra 5door cd which iv had for a good few years now,but has been off the road due to the simple fact id rather smoke around in my sport, but im dusting it off and going to use it for road rallys,12 cars, atuo test's ect.
At the moment its lowerd which is no good so i want to get it back up to standard ride height but stiffer so it'll still handle well so it'll do a roads as well as it'll do whites and bridel ways, but not wanting to pay out for bilstein shocks or the like does any body know of any cheaper uprated equipment of are deisel front s&s harder? Or would cav springs work well on gsi shocks?

You get what i mean...... Lol
any info would be greatley recived, thanks guys! :-)

does anybody know of any combination's that work well on rough roads and good roads that woun't rattle my spine out but still be stiff?

I want to do something similar with my car. There are a lot of diesel springs going cheap on ebay but unless you cut them (OK on some cars but not for Astras due to the spring shape) and the car might sit higher than standard.
Has anyone used cavalier springs, I don't know if they are the same fitting or not.
My other idea was to get some weld on adjustable spring platforms made for Escorts etc and then get some small diameter springs to suit.

Iv been thinking the same,i just want it to handle well whilst still having buckets of ride height.
also yea Andy my sport is sat on 50mm front 35mm back on adjustable koni's, it touch's the ground evey time i leave my drive and yea is just a little to low for rallys! lol

Something else I was thinking about was making some spacers for normal Astra lowering springs. My idea would be to get some scrap struts ang cut the spring pans off. You could then remove the springs, drop a couple of the spring pans on and refit the springs. It should lift the car a bit but you would need a few to raise it much.
Might be more useful to correct corner weights using standard springs.

yea similar thoughts but if the shock isnt any longer it wont gain any height just a nice amount of spring preload, wi=hich isnt a bad thing of cours lol
