this my '97 2.0 sport, got her for £500!
needless to say, she's needed a bit of fettling!
so i've spent a bit of time in here...

now she runs well, and doesn't leak oil everywhere either! (yes, there is oil in it)

done a bit of an led thing inside, to pass my time (thanks for the pic max!),
she's also had a cheap backbox,

have lowered the front, getting round to the back,

drill/grooved front brake disc's mintex extreme all round,
toyo proxes all round

thought it was best to start a diary now, as things are starting to move along a bit...

plans...

keeping this engine (or similar) looking a going the bike throttle body route, just to be different, with the looks not really changing, so a bit of a sleeper, i suppose..

all ideas welcome, and no, i am not making up any led's after this car! :sorry:

i would like a smaller steering wheel, more supportive seats and harnesses, interior-wise, i suppose 17's would be nice, a respray, too outside but i'll never afford those!

has anyone ever "wide-arched" a mk3 with some wheel spacers?
not euro style, more rally 6R4 style?

yeah and no.
changing the bulbs over in clocks, mfd, heater controls is the usual faffing about taking dash apart.
i made the led's up myself, which is time consuming...
sitches are another thing entirely. took me hours to do the headlight switch!
bloody thing is spring loaded!
the looks are worth it though!
now it's dark i'll get some pics!

right, just done led's again as they were poo, especially heater ones so:

but two red ones in heater controls, still not happy, but going to think of maybe a mini harness in there with half dozen no so bright ones for more even lighting up.
did the speedo ones with brighter blue ones, and got them angled right inside clocks so the light is how i want it, speedo and tacho brighter than the other two gauges, and more even lighting!

might have a crack tomorrow at cut-n-shut gearshift linkage, as per how-to guide (sorry, rc, just copying!) if my mate is game for a bit of welding, quicken the shift up a bit!

just found a pic of when i found her, having just put drivers side mirror and indicator on, and bought it! then spent two days doing cambelt kit, camshaft and crank sensor, service, two tyres and MOT! passed no probs, and had been stood and never ran a year!

familiar with a carb setup, lots of info, etc seems no-one has done bike throttle bod's outside kit car circles. problem is, i am trying to do it on the cheap, the killer is weather the std ecu can be remapped/chipped or i need a stand alone management system!
car and bank account aren't ready for donington yet! watch this space!

will prob do donny on two wheels, actually, yeah info might be handy. the only thing i cant get my head round is where i run the vacuum feeds for servo, fuel reg, egr etc. sort of got the pipework sorted in my head, etc!
was going to use std airbox, air temp, airflow meter, into manifold that splits into bike throttle bodies, which have throttle position sensor, onto adaptor plate/manifold to head. use std sensors to start on bike throttle body fuel rail. so... where to put vacumn hoses, and idle control. shall i just save up for a QED kit?
