A few of us crusty Astra-mk2.com owners are planning another track day at Blyton Park on Sunday 18th September if anyone fancies track time click me. Or simply pop along and park up for spectating as there is ample parking with facilities and food available onsite or bring your own BBQ.

Pics from last years effort.

That looks like fun and is only about an hour drive from me, I'm interested but car isn't ready just yet :)

I'll try not to clutter this thread up too much but what sump set-ups are people running for the track days, anything special?

I have a beffled windage tray same as the one in this thread. But I also have a baffled sump sitting on my shelf which I'll fit one day, made by dewismotorsport (Adam) on MIGweb. I can get you some pics of my sump if you wish? My mates rallies and he has never used a baffled sump and had no issues at all, even when testing on circuits.

Two days to go and the car is all sorted. Couple of weeks ago on Friday 2nd Sept it was loaded onto my trailer and off I popped...

...to AP Racing Engines to have the car setup with the new VXR injectors and Fuelab fuel pressure regulator.

After initial checks and a chat with Andrew the fuel pressure was left as I had set it at 2.6 Bar and my existing map was changed.

Just under 3 hours later and all was complete. As I’m still running hydraulic lifters the soft limit was lowered to 7,900rpm and the hard limit at 8,100rpm. It was previously set at 8,200rpm and 8,400rpm which is really only safe for solid lifters.

The final result was as I had hoped 221bhp but the torque was up by a healthy chunk to 180lbft. Super happy with that and the car is ready for Blyton Park on Sunday.

Another great day at Blyton Park last Sunday 18th September. A few of us camped over the night before and we all had a great time and ate lots of pizza. The car felt fantastic all day and the new map has made a difference as I can feel the extra torque that's now available. I'll let the pictures tell the story.
