Right. So I have another rather specific symptom to add to my engine troubles. Basically I have a problem with a misfire, when the car is under load.

Now, I don't get any EML or anything.i
At first I thought it was something to do with the cold/slash wet, but the reason I thought that is because when it's cold and wet I would have the heater and blowers on.

Let me explain. So the main road to mine has been shut for repairs, so I had to take the back roads. I like to have my fogs on, to see the hedge rows for wildlife about to jump out in front of me etc. Now I turn them off along with my main beam when a car come towards me. So, the car passes, and I put my lights up to full, going along in 4th at around 45/50, with slight throttle, I flick on the fogs and I get a slight misfire. Then when I put the car under load I can feel this slight misfire. I turn the fogs off and it smooth as anything.

So then I test it with the blowers. Turn them up to 4 from 2, slightly more throttle and then I can feel this misfire!?!

So, am I any closer to finding out what it is?!

if you turn on alot of electrical stuff does it get worse? say all your lights, blowers, radio, wipers etc etc

another is if you switch on the blowers at idle do your headlights dim?

also do you have a battery that you could swap over from mate or somet to rule out the battery?

these tests should give you an idea of weather the alternator is going or if the battery is nackered they wont be gospel and a multimeter would be better

wierd .. drive in the dark ... cant see anything but a hell of a lot smoother ride home ;)

LOL

MK3OC Does not condone driving at night with no lights on lol

Haha. Pretty sure battery is mint. Looks pretty new and I was doing some tests with a multimeter back when I got the car and it's 12v everywhere.

I'll check and see if the headlights dim when it gets dark.
