I'm wondering if any of you guys have fitted xenons on your angel eye projectors. I haven't even fitted mine, but I've read on numerous posts that some have complained about the beams - pattern, intensity and such, and were just perfect after they fitted xenons.
I know that regulations state that HIDs are only to be fitted on headlights that auto-adjust their height and have washers fitted, but my question(s) is(are) more about the aftermarket HID kits. Bear in mind that I'm most interested in the one-piece angel eye headlight solutions (Hella), but 2-piece (FK) opinions are also very valuable. here we go:

1) What wattage would you recommend (35W/55W); do you personally use a HID system of this wattage?
2) What colour is best ? 4300k, 5000k, 6000k ? I'm not considering anything above that.
3) Preffered brand (Philips vs. "China") which one do you use and why ?
4) Describe "angel eye" headlamp performance before fitting HIDs and after.

thanks a lot, guys!

Cool, so the question is: are you satisfied with your choice ? There aren't a lot of people with mk3 Astras around here, let alone the headlights that I could ask about their experience with xenons. So, King^Lee, would you recommend a 35Watts HID kit or a 55Watt kit for the Hellas ?
thanks for the replies, guys.

Im running HID's in my one piece angels and realy happy with the results as below

Thanks for the cool piccies, mate.
From what I've read, one couldn't make out the difference between 35 and 55W kits, so I think I'm going to go for a 35W 5000k set - I still think that 6000k bulbs have more of a bluish tint that the police around here would consider OK and a reason more to pull me over for.
So now ... type. I know standards are H4 with both low and high beam inside the same bulb, but for the one-piece Hella ones, I think I need H7-like xenon bulbs, right ?
(dumb question :sorry:)

mk3 astra angel eyes use h1 bulbs

Yup, just pulled one out and checked - H1 bulb.
Now I need to decide if it'll be 4300k or 5000k.
