Which fuel to use?

I have a 1995 1.4 LS, is it okay to run this on unleaded or do I need to use an additive? I can see no reference to any cylinder head work in a fairly comprehensive service history. Many thanks, Angus.

Absolutely fine, need to go a bit further back before you need to worry about additives

it usually says unleaded inside the fuel flap, but the sticker may of fallen off!

I somtimes add some redex petrol treatm, helps keep the carb clean and other bits inside the engine.
Guves the car a bit of zip too.

A good idea (I use Redex in my van when I see it on offer) - I'll give it a try.

Just watch out for carbon build-up after prolonged use of unleaded - I run mine on premium now after it got a bit too much for me to handle. This might not end up affecting you but just something to keep in mind. They go like a rocket on 98 though (well, rocket compared to their usual standard )

This isn't my main vehicle so I'm not doing many miles (3k last year) but I will try premium as I'd be interested to see if there's any difference.
