Can the lower ball joint be replace independently of the wishbone?

The bolts that hold mine in don't look like they were designed to be removed (hex bolt on bottom, domed cap on top), but i really can't be arsed with changing the whole wishbone.

yeah grind off the top of the rivet and drill it out but don,t drill all the way through and bash it out

when you buy a new ball joint it comes with nut and bolts to bolt it back on
for got to say put a jack under the ball joint when your doing this

is that any better

imo its best to do as wayne has done, ive fitted new lower ball joints on mine, mine are just delphi ball joints from my motor factors but doing it this way ment i could keep my genuine wishbones and all you have to do if the balljoint goes again is unbolt old one and replace rather than having to keep replacing the wishbone all the time

I think it'll come down to which parts i can get hold of first, but i'll give that a go.
