Sadly my Astra had an attempted break in. They tried to jemmy the door, then moved onto the boot.
They sods have smashed the lock up, so now the only access is to through the folding seats. Not great when you have kids.
I have posted up a wanted ad for a new lock, but my question is, can you...
Due to a bodged break in attempt on my car, I now have a stuffed rear boot lock.
they smashed a screwdriver into :-(
has any one got a lock with key for sale, I am desperate as need to use the boot for my little boys puch chair etc.
Thanks in advance
yeah pretty convinced its a front bearing, all the tell tale symptoms..
Not great timing as I have the front legs off my other car at present replacing the wheel studs for longer ones, just frigging after rebuilding the cv joint.
I may just get a local garage to do em, cannot be bothered...
as per title, I think mine are on the way out, are they a bitch of a job or okay?
have a bearing puller but not a press.
only started since I put my bigger rims on, all 14" of them grrr.
I am also hoping it tyre noise, but it deffo sounds bearing like.
Cheers guys
wow, fantastic thread, really interesting. looking forward to reading about the re build of the new shell.
looks like the Saab engine has a couple of the heat related issues my celica has. I use lots of that Nimbus heat sheild sheets to protect components.
Damn cool car and conversion..
