Check for intake vacuum leaks and hopefully you replaced the lambda with a decent quality item as they can be fussy. You really need the codes reading though to see what's being flagged as it might not be what you're thinking.
This shows you the paperclip test and associated codes click me for...
Popped up to The Motorist a few Sundays ago with the Astra mk3 V6 having heard it was a decent place, we weren’t disappointed and what a great venue. If you have never been it’s well worth a visit. Pics can do the talking so here goes.
I was a couple of miles from home on the return leg from...
After 10 years of faithful service one of the aftermarket bonnet struts on the Astra mk3 V6 decided to fail so I had to temporarily revert back to the OE stay until a plan was hatched.
The failed strut had no details meaning I had no idea what force it was but it did measure 435mm expanded...
When I had the Astra V6 out and about last month I had a couple of occurrences of the dreaded click click before the starter engaged and the engine fired up. I’ve never had this previously but it’s a sure sign the starter wasn’t happy. My intention was to get the original Bosch refurbished but...
On Saturday the wife and I popped along to the new VauxALL show held at The British Motor Museum displaying on the Vauxhall Drivers Club stand. A fab show with a relaxed atmosphere and some lovely cars.
I decided it was about time the Astra V6 had an oil change as it was last done in August 2018, oh heck. It’s only covered around 1,300miles since then but I still felt I had neglected the poor thing. Out it was dug from the Winter slumber and last month it got some loving and check over for its...
I noticed the exhaust tips had started to crack and peel 3yrs after having them ceramic coated.
Due to the above issue I decided to try another company Maldon Shotblasting & Powder Coating and had them recoated in Graphite Black.
Prior to fitting I painted the shiny stainless steel rear...
in 1 - tap into an abs sensor wire, doesnt matter what colour or what way round they go, long as they obviously go to the same sensor
in 2 - as above
out - connect to thin blue/red going to the clocks
15 - connect to an ignition switched live
31 - connect to earth
I would recommend it. The pic below is the baffle I added to my mk2 valver sump, same engine. Top is for stock oil pickup routing & bottom is for Z20LET pump pickup. Can get you more pics & measurements as I have a spare baffled sump (not for sale) if you need them.
Enjoyed driving the Astra V6 this year and last month it went for its annual health check and I’m pleased to say no split ball joint boots this year and it passed. MOTer did comment on the loud exhaust but was aware I’ve done all I can to quieten it down with the extra silencer. It’s now SORN...
Popped to a small local meet at the weekend in the blistering sunshine, I’m so glad I persevered with the Astra mk3 AC it was a wonderful cool drive out. The meet was at www.griffinsheadnottingham.co.uk I was expecting a larger turnout but it is holiday season and was hot hot hot. My mate came...
DavebGsi you could try looking at uniballs from Super FWD, check out these links as they have offset bjs & full rose joint front arms. I'm sure they could make you something custom to your own spec as well...
As you can see my pedal box retains the OE clevis & yoke setup plus the manufacturers pivot point so no redrilling required. The extra spring is to ensure the brake pedal returns to the correct rest position as I occasionally had m/c push rods not returning fully but this was also not helped...
