i recently heard someone say that your can put a 2L cavlier carbertor in place of a 1.6 astra injector? is this true? or have i got something really mixed up? generally im talking the stuff under the black box on top of engine) also mentioned something about ecu unit changing, manifolds and a few other things. You only learn by asking questions and i learn something new everyday on here so please correct me on my car term talks.

You mean using a Cav SPi 1.8 injector carb with a Astra 1.6 Spi inlet manifold. No you do not need to use a different ECU. But only use this if you are fitting a lumpier cam as alll you will get is overrun backfire (looks cool but gains nothing).

have you got any more details, like do's and dont's and added benefits and drawbacks.
