what are the max size brakes i can get under 14" wheels, if i get bigger discs do i need to change the calipers at all?

ta

so if i was getting a 2ltr brake setup for the front all id need wud be new discs and calipres?

I'm going for the GSi/CD 256mm set up which was designed to fit under 14 inch wheels. This is best if you are sticking with the C14NZ, as it won't reach the speeds to push those brakes to their limit.

thats what i needed to hear, so 256mm all round should do the trick? what about standard 14's up front and 256's on rear? or am i better going and just getting the same setup.

how much am i looking at for a full set

What you need at the rear is a GSi rear axle. But just having a 256mm set up at the front, is good enough. Unless you are going for a bigger engine. As for cost, you just need to find a 1.8 above Astra to rob the brakes off of, easy to remove, you'll the cailper mounts too. Or do I did remove them just from the mounts.

You dont really need the whole axle as they are all the same for every year and engine size all you need for the axle are the stub axles that bolt to the axles and then just the break systems and some break pipe and handbreak cables the its just a case of assembling all together wich isn't really a big job

The gsi rear ale has different handbrae guides on it and the normal astra's have a different brae compensator which when used with rear discs can caue them to loc easily. AstraBen know what i mean

think ill just get new rear drumbs and 256 groved discs up front
