Hi all, the hose to the rear end on my Caravan is cracked.
I managed to find the hose between the rear (tailgate) door and the car it self between the rubber connecting hose.
I wanted to fix this but after a while it has fallen down/is gone somewhere in the roof I think.
Does someone knows how this hose is running from the front to the back? So I know where I have to look, don't want to tear down the whole interior... Maybe run a new hose from the front to the back but think this would not be an easy job... It was cracked and I wanted to fix it by fitting a plastic connecting piece between them, but the hose is gone...

if u take the rear trim off at the back of the roof lining you should find it hopefully, that will allow u to pull down the roof lining if needed too

Okay, sounds easy. Wanted to fix the headliner also; think that won't be that easy...

It wasnt the easiest job as you've a lot of plastic trims to un do to get the headlining out to change it. It runs in the roof cavity also.

Wanted to fix the hose, I've removed the grab handles, there is a hole to the roof, the only thing I found was the antenna cable haha.
The hose it self is somewhere more to the front.
There is another plastic part, but not sure where it's for, think to mount something to the roof?
I did not manage to take it out, must be holding with some clips, maybe, do not see any screws.Did not want to break it...

The main issue is I don't think I will get to the hose, unless I remove the headliner, a job on my to-do-list, but did not have the time...

Is there some kind of manual how to remove the head/roof liner (not just the fabric but the whole thing)? Loos like pulling down the door rubbers, remove sunscreen, grab handles, should do the trick, not sure how long this wil take... Can this be done in an hour or so? Is it held by any clips or can I just take it out if everything is loose?

The hose I ordered fits, maybe it's better to run a new hose to the front if possible, otherwise I can connect them via the connecting pieces.

My idea was to sand off all the foam (not the glue but the foam is the issue?), and just paint it black or something like that, I've read that glueing a new headliner in place it will come down eventually because you need a particular type of glue, and with the fabric, it can be a little bit expensive... But let's take it out first...

If anyone has an idea how to do it, it will make matters a lot easier I think haha.

To remove the headliner you need to remove all grab handles and the front sun visors with interior lights.

Then remove the a, b and c (basically the shelf plastics in the estate) then drop the whole thing down. Wasnt fun when I did it.

Alternatively the tube in question is in the chassis of the roof not near wires.

Once the headlining is out if sagging you can get a kit to re cover it pretty cheap in a new colour you wish.

I think it will be a pain in the *** haha. There is a lot to do... I removed the grab handles and interior lights and so fort, but these things won't come off. Are they clicked in place like the interior lights? Seems they are connected to the headlining?
I removed the A pillar plastic and looks like the hose is indeed somewhere in the chassis... I hope I don't have to remove it in one piece, have 5 meter of hose and connecting parts.... First things first, the headliner has to be removed...
Anyone knows how to remove the attached plastic part? Not sure where it's for...

Is it not screwed in and its for the dog guard. I cant remember how I got mine out lol

Looks to me it clips on the chassis and not the headliner itself, now I think about it, not sure if there are 2 of 4 of them, was thinking maybe it's for a roofrack or something like that haha... Cannot find anything about it on the internet, not even a picture... It's an original Dutch "caravan" (we call it a stationwagon or shorter a "wagon"), Caravan is a German name and Estate is the UK version, maybe I have something special, who knows...
Because it's 30 years old I don't want to break it, and want to take it out anyway, so don't want to try to pull it down at the back.

The plasics where pressed in a clipholder, did not managed to get them out in one piece. Maybe it requires a special tool.
The headliner is out of the car... I did found the hose but it's located in the roof chassis... I hope I can fit in a new one by guiding it via the rubber in the rear...
