Your best bet is to get a multimeter if the wirings been cut, it's the only sure way to be certain now. There is no earth at the headunit because it gets that from the stereo casing which is screwed to metal on the car
Remove the ashtray and it exposes 2 philips screws, take these out.
The whole panel then just unclips from the bottom and once it's off the stereo is then screwed in from the front :)
A buzzer from somewhere like maplins wired into the indicator wire with a diode will do the trick. The diode's needed so it only beeps when the remote is pressed and not with the indicators or hazard lights on
It's the other way around. Thatham cat 2 applies to the immobiliser which was fitted as standard to astra's from late 94, thatham cat 1 applies to a alarm and immobiliser.
So with the astra having a cat 2 immobiliser fitted as standard you just need to upgrade it to cat 1 to include the alarm...
The S34 would be recongised as a Cat 1 alarm
