You'll only need a certificate if you have a cat 1 or 2 alarm and then you only need it if you want to try and get a discount on your insurance Remote locking is simple to fit to the Astra, it needs wiring up negative pulse and if your connecting indicators aswell your best place to do all...

Your best bet is to get a multimeter if the wirings been cut, it's the only sure way to be certain now. There is no earth at the headunit because it gets that from the stereo casing which is screwed to metal on the car

I believe the ISO adaptor you'll need is a Autoleads part number PC2-13-4, this will make it plug and play with just a wire to put to earth

    removal

Remove the ashtray and it exposes 2 philips screws, take these out. The whole panel then just unclips from the bottom and once it's off the stereo is then screwed in from the front :)

    Central locking bleep

A buzzer from somewhere like maplins wired into the indicator wire with a diode will do the trick. The diode's needed so it only beeps when the remote is pressed and not with the indicators or hazard lights on

    Alarm help

It's the other way around. Thatham cat 2 applies to the immobiliser which was fitted as standard to astra's from late 94, thatham cat 1 applies to a alarm and immobiliser. So with the astra having a cat 2 immobiliser fitted as standard you just need to upgrade it to cat 1 to include the alarm...

    Alarm help

The S34 would be recongised as a Cat 1 alarm I can honestly say that we have a 99% sucess rate on these alarms, with only 2 faulty units in the possibly 4 years they have been out They are good solid alarms. Maybe they don't have all the gimicks that the cliffords and toads have but they...

Does your car have a aftermarket LED mounted anywhere or ultrasonics on the top of the A pilars? These will show if it has a aftermarket sigma alarm fitted Only the M30's came with a kepyad as standard I believe, every other one was a optional extra. If your looking for one it's the MK1 you...

    Alarm help

MK3 astra's came fitted with a immobiliser as standard from late 94 so to upgrade it anymore you can do so with a Thatham 2-1 upgrade alarm. I'd always recomend Sigma with their S34 but then it's the alarm make I fit at work :) You should be able to get one supplied and fitted for around £250

    Where can i buy these?

They are usually crap and cause bad connections. Cut the connectors off and put your own on there. Make sure you leave enough on there to reconnect if needed

    Installing Car Alarm....

You may be on the wrong wire for the nearside mate. I know there is a wire that goes to the steering column from the flasher relay (this will test both ways)

    Installing Car Alarm....

In the O/S kickpanel is the central locking relay, there should only be one of each wire down there going to it (maybe 2 wires of the same colour going into the same pin though. Indicator pick up would be best at the steering column black/green as mentioned above but black/white also (only one...
