Alarm help

well like i say the standard toad comes in at around £100 off ebay as a cat 1 i think then i think total window closure is about £30 and a tilt sensor (incase someone jacks up your car to nick the cat or the wheels, im not sure if thats a relavent crime in wales or not?) is about £50 and if you wanted to go really ott a tracker and text service for £370

also i think u can get boot and door poppers etc

eg a alarm only will be a cat 2, but a alarm combined with immobiliser will be cat 1(if it meets the tests), parts of the C5T2 can be added seperately to bring a approved cat 2 system(alarm only) up to cat one by the addition of the immobiliser, think that's right anyhow, getting tired!!

It's the other way around. Thatham cat 2 applies to the immobiliser which was fitted as standard to astra's from late 94, thatham cat 1 applies to a alarm and immobiliser.

So with the astra having a cat 2 immobiliser fitted as standard you just need to upgrade it to cat 1 to include the alarm hence the "2 to 1 upgrade"

You know your toad alarms though as I didn't know they did a 2 to 1 upgrade alarm
 
if your gonna splash the cash, you may as well just get a alarm and immobiliser. some insurance companies dont really recognise immobilisers on old cars. i put mine in and got no discount. i can see why as the standard alarm/ immobiliser caught fire. useless hunk a crap. never worked anyway, could have hotwired the car and driven it away and alarm would never know.
