auto gear box

hi does any one help me i can no get reverse gear

Can you get all the other gears?

yes a bit jumpy starting off in drive

Does it change through all the other gears ok? It could be the selector switch, a common problem with these auto boxes, it's a collection of contact plates that are selected by spring loaded contacts on a 'sweeping arm' type arrangement. They get worn with age and clogged up with old grease etc. It's located on top of the box where the selector cable attaches. you can strip it down and clean it up without too much trouble.

No problem... they are a little tricky to get apart, and be careful you don't lose any of the fiddly bits.
