Coilovers

Right .... At the moment I have 15" alloys with standard shocks and lowering springs .... But I'm running about an inch off the floor! It's ridiculous! Looks awesome don't get me wrong! But te speed bumps are killing me! And with our roads as shocking as they are I feel everrry thing it's actually horrible! So I'm looking to change suspension but wonder what the options are! What's best?

You won't get coilovers cheap mate, can go for a 40mm drop using standard shocks, or 60mm with uprated shocks (although ive been running 60mm springs for 2 years on standard shocks no issues.)

Yeah im an idiot Astra h mk3 ! Didn't see the H bit!

Gaz are the only ones that do decent coilover for mk3, the golds are 750 for a full set but the u new to send your hub/legs off and have your rear arches turreted which is a ball ache that im going to have to go through soon lol but you can get front coilovers and rear shocks and spring that are 42-way adjustable for around 400 quidders which i think is good price. depends what you price range is really

There is no cheap way round this as the front suspension leg has the hub built in and the damper is a slide in insert. IMO GAZ are the best coilovers.
Remember you pay for what you get and some cheap dampers can leak in 12months!!

Astranaut your splitters been caught on sumin. I'm forever slotting my splitter in the bumper slots! Iv given up searching for coilovers at a decent price. My mates got a mk2 and a mk3 golf. Got himself kits for under 200quid. Tossa.

its cause you can't get the hub seperate like on a golf. The hub and leg are all one bit on a mk3

If your shocks are still the ones that were fitted when it left the factory they are probably worn out by now, get your self a decent set of shocks and the ride should be a lot better..

Been like that for ages, when i repaired the bumper i accidentally filled a few of thos whole with fibreglass so it doesnt sit properly lol
