Right guys, I'll post my diary on here too, I'm just copying and pasting from ClubCalibra.

----

Hi guys, as you will know if you had read my introduction. I picked up the Calibra last Friday. Nothing really wrong with the car. The bonnet has a slight paint mistake where someone tried to fix it before but did a bad job. Easily fixable. The drivers seat bolster has a little tear so will be replacing that. Need some new gaitors but that's about it.

It's a 1997 v6 auto.

The pictures below aren't the best, taken quickly by phone. Will get some better ones up.

My first plans for the Calibra are:

Nice set on 17" alloys
Better looking exhaust
Window tints (If I think it would look okay, only slight tints)
Colour code the handles and most probably the bump strips too.
Get a v6 engine cover and get it sprayed up to match the car.

Those are the first ideas I want to fulfil, I'm sure more will arise as the project is undertaken! :)

Pics as she sits now:

That's the diary atm. More updates to follow as and when!

Looks good mate, dashes in these look very 80's though. You got any plans?

Cheers bud. Yeah, they do look a lil old fashioned but I like them ;).. Something different. Parts will be sprused up to make it more appealing. Plans for the car are..

Nice set on 17" alloys
Better looking exhaust
Window tints (If I think it would look okay, only slight tints)
Colour code the handles and most probably the bump strips too.
Get a v6 engine cover and get it sprayed up to match the car.
40mm GMAX Lowering Kit..

Then any little other peices. I'd like to get the interior blacked out. Roof lining black would be nice.

I take it all that planning and explaining isn't happening now then  would of been loads better in an astra with a gearstick

Agreed.

But not a bad motor. :)

lol, the astra's shell wasn't too great to begin with tbh mate. I would have had to get it completely resrayed. I found some rust which I never knew was there.. :(.. That's why I decided to break it instead. I'm still bargaining with the idea to put an f28 gearbox in this, would be a pain in the arse but hey, something to look forward to deciding on lol.

I'll most probably defo get another mk3 in a few years but for now, I'm looking forward to getting this 100% to my likings. Although after I'd like a MK4 Astra Van or a van of some sort.

looks good mate

would be better if it had a real gearbox though

I am THE most jealous man right now, I've wanted one of these forever! Looks like a nice car mate, will keep an eye on this!

Had to get a new battery from Vauxhall today, cost me £60 with 3 year warranty!

Other one keep playing up, wasn't holding any voltage!

So that's changed and solved that problem! :)

£60 form vaux, thats preety cheap :o

Aye there more than that in Halfrauds :) Was that with Trade Club mate?

Yes mate, was with Trade Club, my missus granddad has a trade account with them. (Blakey's Engineering)
