Ungainly mirrors aside, that looks really nice. Needs some Irmscher skirts to finish it off. Clean looking car.
Judging by the passenger airbag and odd MFD, I'd suggest that it was an ex-police car. 95 onwards police Astras had pax airbags fitted as standard...to Merit models) *edit* I see you've written that bit already!! lol

nar actually there was no airbag in the passenger side wen a got the car and the seats n door cards wer *** so i went 2 the skrap yard and took the interior out of a gls i think not sure now but i think its sweet inside now
Nice car you've got there, but yours isn't a Merit. Yours is a fleet spec car, that's why you have just a clock instead of the MFD (which base spec AstraVans have too) and also notice yours doesn't have a lockable glovebox (rare on a Ph2). I think they came with black interiors as well. Also they came with Nova SR style Steel wheels and some came with MPi 1.4 8v's and 1.7td (isuzu) engines.

future plans ermm adont no jst jet it ether a redtop ,redtop turbo or a v6 thats tickiling my fancy but was olso thinking of a full respray in sum wild colour or jst a nice plain sexy colour lol maby a frount spliter get me side skirts on new mirrors as mine r ****e and was thinking of smothing the boots but stil not sure if it would look nice ur thoughts would be agud help like any thing also u think would luk gd on me car please do share lol
Reckon you should just leave it looking pretty much as it is. Looks nice. Just get rid of those mirrors and add some Irmscher skirts.
Smoothed tailgates are sooooooooo last decade. IMHO, don't work at all well on the MK3.
