el. windows problem

So I know I can program the windows... if they go up and down automatically when I hold the button down for a while on not and I have done it several times. But now I suddenly have a problem... the drivers window goes down nicely but when I try to get it to go up it only comes about 3-4cm, then I have to push the button again and again the same 3-4cm.

So my question is - Is this a programmable issue or is there something wrong and what might it be? Have had no problems with the windows so far and the other window is just fine

try putting the window all the way up and then hold the button up for 10seconds did this on my vectra might be the same

heard from a friend that it might be the motor itself. may that be true?

if so... some older models dont have the programming ability and theyr windows dont rise automatically. What does control this, is it the motor, some relay or something else. Would like to know because if it is the motor and I buy someones old motor the automatical rising would not work.

It's the motor that controls it

so if I get an older motor the automatic lift won't work????
