so I noticed today that my NSF wishbone has decided to start popping the big rear bushing out. Now I'm capable of replacing them but my question is am I better of replacing the whole wishbone or just replacing the bushings with poly ones? The cars a daily driver but does get driven spiritedly when I want to.

That's what I was thinking, having read about aftermarket ones pulling out quickly I don't wanna be doing it all again so soon, that's the only reason I was thinking of poly bushing them

What conditions is the ball joint in? I would change to poly bushes but could be a waste of money if your not upgrading all bushes. Because you will still have lots of movement in the rest of the system.

I've not had a real close look at them only noticed when checking tyre for possible puncture. They look like the original ones so possibly all the bushes/joints are worn. It's just finding the best option for value of money really

It's a difficult one really if the ball joints are good and the front bush is good then I would put a poly bush one the back mountain.. I know from pasthe cars that is the back one that always fales most of the time. It takes most of the movement side to side and up and down.

I can get two new TRW wishbones from euro car parts for 80 quid at the minuet which would just be direct replacement, poly bushes would need pressing in? It's tempting to poly them but I can't have the car off the road if something where to go wrong when replacing

I think poly bushes come in two halfs top and bottom??? But don't quote me on that. If you go for New arms then you don't have to worry about ball joints. Find out if there is a grantee on the bushes then if it happens again you can get them replaced at no extra cost apart from your time!.

I thought they would of been a complete bush personally but not sure. Thinking new arms would be easier and everything comes with a guarantee. Going to do some research on it all before I got ahead with anything

Yeah like I said I'm not to sure about the poly bushes. I'd make sure just what the grantees are on them. Well keep me posted and let me know what you find out about the bushes

My Land Rover polybushes were all halves, as you'd never manage to push in whole ones.

I'd assume these would be the same, but never used polys on cars...

Yeah I thought the same that would be to hard to push in. But I'm not sure if the come in a bush or in parts??!!

When I first got my car and took her for an MOT. I got an advisory on rear suspension bushes. The tester told me the wrong bush when I asked him, so I bought the rear beam bushes and went for poly ones. These came as a complete solid bush so just going on that i would of assumed that the bushes would've of been 1 unit and not two halves but I could be wrong...

That's what I'm thinking. They also supply a complete poly set for front wishbones so I've emailed them about them and just awaiting a response but I think I'm going to go down the poly bush root instead of replacing with aftermarket wishbones as I'm sure I've seen on here about them not lasting long at all...

If you have trouble pushing the polys in, and if you've got a spare pair of wishbones (or another mode of transport), then you can nip down to me and use my bottle jack press thing.

Had mine changed a couple of years back and replaced with genuine VX ones. They were not cheap but came complete with all bushes fitted.

I've decided to go down the poly bush route, just waiting for some free time to be able book holiday from work and get them all changed over. Start with the bushes and move onto the suspension next..
