A working party has been at Billing all day marking out a new layout. It’s been sunny today and with a stiff breeze the ground is firming up by the minute! I can report on progress as follows:
(i) All clubs have been allocated a serviceable stand area. This may still have some areas of surface water but with a bit of ingenuity and good will all round I believe we can work around these and have a good weekend. Basically all clubs except MIG, Vauxhall Sports Car Club, Opel Manta Club, Club Calibra, RMOCI and Mk 2 Cavalier Owners Network have been moved to a new location. Location maps will be posted on the Billing paybooths as soon as possible.
(ii) The autojumble has been moved to the tarmac area beside the fun fair and on some of the grass areas around the go-kart track. Everyone will have their allocated space. When it’s all up and running it will look much like a busy motor racing paddock area. And if it gets all too much for you there is a handy pub, shops, a snack bar and Cornelius’s fun fair. The little railway doesn’t run any more so it’s a safe pedestrian area with lots to see and do.
It may be different, it may not be what was planned but it looks as though Billing 25 will be a great show just the same!
