I start car when cold then stalls ...

Hey People, I thought I sorted this by changing cts ... but it hasn't.. and its doing my head in! any help would be good ... like I say it only does when its cold .. I have to press the accelerator to stop the engine from stalling and then its fine ..

Did you put the correct cts in? If you have traction control then its not the standard blue cts that you need; pretty sure its the black one.

Tricky one to diagnose if it only does it when cold, think youre along the right lines looking at cts

My calibra did this when the idle control valve was on its way out. No amount of cleaning would fix it.

The calibra is fitted with the X20XEV if that helps.

i have changed the icv already because it was trying to stall at first when I was driving but that sorted that... its like I following a trail of problems lol

I have traction control and I have got the blue one fitted now ... hmm do I need change it ... can some confirm this for me

Yeh for traction control you should have a black cts not blue..

the plug was blue ... so I was told I needed a blue one

Ask a Vaux dealer maybe. Mine is black, i once thought about changing it when my emissions were out. I gave my reg to vaux and they came back with the black one. I didnt get one in the end as it was so expensive compared to the blue one. I can only imagine that it gives a different resistance.

ok i have changed to a black one now and no different ... my emissions sound awful anything else I can change??

Still doesnt start?! Time to do basic checks then,fuel, spark etc

so far I have changed my plugs, plug leads , air filter , ICV .. I have flushed my oil and done filter ... and now my cts

My Sport runs cack on cold start, it's because it's missing an exhaust manifold stud (snapped) and it blows a fair bit until it's warmed up and the expansion of the metals seals the leak.

I guess the leak plays havoc with the lambda for a bit.
