when putting the clutch in the revs seem to drop to far to the point where it nearly stalls and it has infact stalled a couple of times, also coming on and off the throttle lightly is very jerky makes gearchanges a bit weird aswell with the revs dropping off a lot.

ive stripped the inlet down and cleaned the icv, throttle body, afm etc with carb cleaner, didnt make any differnce, my throttle switch cant be adjusted either so i cant do much with that and i dont have any fault codes stored.

do you not have a fault code?

i would check the inlet pipes for rips - of thats fine it sounds like the afm is playing up (d/c it and see how it runs) personally id say its the afm at fault.

i take it the clutch doesnt slip?

no mate clutch doesnt slip, there is a rip in the pipe between airbox and afm, ive wrapped it up in insulation tape for now while i find another, nightmare trying to find dispac specific parts.

as its before the afm i wouldnt have thought that would cause running probs.

i also tryed squeezing the pipe from the icv to check it is working and it is.

ill try d/c the afm tomorrow then and see how it is, i take it it will revert to a limp home mode and run from a default map?

in theory yes.......

but if that pipes ripped replace it - that will sort it.

pretty sure the pipes are the same for all c20xes!

cant remember off top of my head

too used to looking at my dispac engine!

whats your cavvy turbo ones like?

can u read the part number off it?

someone on MIGWEB is bound to have one laying around....if not vautovaux wont want that much for it - n u can search their site with part numbers.

there are two on epc, 90351577 and 90469332, i think it will be the second one as its a later part, autovaux says not found for both :(

tried it with the afm disconnected and it did seem alot better, certainly smoother to drive although the revs still seemed to drop a tad too much.

i also noticed (with afm connected) if you put it under heavy load like wot from low revs it stutters almost like hitting a brickwall and then takes off again.

what sensors does the ecu ignore when in limp mode?

it shouldnt ignore any sesnor and the afm should put ur em light on

but since the pipe before the afm is split its gonna be making it do some strange thing

first thing to do would be find a replacement pipe and then see if the afm still plays up

are you 100% sure of that?

i know on the cav if it wont drive because a sensor is faulty, if you unplug the afm it defaults to a base map and doesnt use any of the sensor inputs hence your able to make it home, id assume its the same for the astra aswell, so even with the pipe replaced ill still have a problem.

first thing first though i need to replace that pipe.

there are fault codes for afm problems.

they can play up but if theyre properly fooked youll get the em light on (which is where the "safe" base map comes from and you can get home)

well i never get the em light on, apart from when i unplugged it obviously.

gonna get that pipe changed and go from there i think.
