Hi all, am attempting to install an after market car alarm, but have run into trouble...........Can someone post a picture of the o/s footwell with the various components labeled so I know where to look for the various wires?
I know I need to find the 'lock and unlock' wires, but if they are say brown/white & brown/red, would these be the only such coloured wires in that location?
Also, whilst I have your attention.........What’s the best way to wire it up so the indicators flash? off the hazard switch?, or indicator stalk? And what colour wire should I look for?
Thanks in advance, I know there are some clever buggers on here that will only be too willing to help an old man out....lol
Phil.

my alarm indy flash is wired into my hazards iirc its green/black and white/black defo those colours may be the other way round (but these are the only wires there that are these colours)

In the O/S kickpanel is the central locking relay, there should only be one of each wire down there going to it (maybe 2 wires of the same colour going into the same pin though. Indicator pick up would be best at the steering column black/green as mentioned above but black/white also (only one the wrong way around)

Any pictures of said relay? Have had a look and there are a few in that location.
Sorry if I appear stupid, but want to get it right first time.
Cheers,
Phil.

Quick up-date, been out today and had a look at the indicators, found the two green/black wires from indicator stalk and added the two brown wires to one of each as detailed in the instructions. Trouble is, the off/side flash when they should, but the near/side don't flash at all. Anybody got any ideas of whats going wrong?
Thinking of ripping the whole thing out and going without an alarm, more trouble than it's worth, and I still have to try and suss out the locking part yet !!!

Recheck your connections, if not it is possible to get both side to flash off just one output, did this on my sierra gl, when I fitted "cop in a box"!!
tabetha

Could it be white/black & green/black that I am looking for?
If not, how do I get them both to flash off of one connection?
Thanks in advance.
Anybody want to fit the thing for me?????

i dont think theres a wire that will do both if youve only got one wire best bet is to get 2 lengths of wire and fork the single wire also yeah thats the colours

You may be on the wrong wire for the nearside mate. I know there is a wire that goes to the steering column from the flasher relay (this will test both ways)

Quick up-date: Yep, the two wires I needed were the black/white & Green/black. Indicators now flash as they should.
Still got a way to go with the alarm, but hoping to talk my mate into giving me a hand sometime soon.
