Ok yesterday I was getting a few insurance quotes for research purposes and here are the results -
All quotes are for 10k per year – fully comp in my name – 4years NCB - no crashes and no points – kept in the garage with direct line
Astra mk3 1.8 16v cesaro (my current car) - £471
Astra mk4 1.8 sxi - £473
Corsa C 1litre Life – £331
Astra mk3 sport 2ltr 16v - £465
N reg 1.6 16 sport mk3 - £403
Mk3 astra GSI 2ltr 16v- £595
R reg mk3 1.6 16v sport - £445
Mk3 astra 1.4 8v - £368
Astra mk5 888 (diesel) - £634
I think its daft that my old 2ltr sport is cheaper to insure than my current 1.8 and that both 1.6 16v sports are the same yet they want £40 difference!! The 888 comes up as a VAUXHALL ASTRA 1.9D CDTI 150 DESIGN 3DR and you have to insure the bodykit, brakes, wheels, tuning etc all separate!
Oh well ill keep with my trusty 1.8 16v at the moment
