what tool did you use to cut out the internal airbox pipes? dremel?

i didn't cut the pipe out, just took the whole airbox off and tapped the clips out from the underneath.
i was suprised to find only one pipe in there, i thought there was supposed to be two:noidea:

this is the top of mine, i think it should have another pipe in there but someone must have took it out already.

anumptynoono, take em out matey and stick a panel filter in there.
really easy to do and it does make a difference:nod:

i took mine out to get more air in the box, there would be no point in taking it out if you were to blank it off after.
i was a bit wary about sucking up crap/water etc but the area around where the res box should be was dry.
probably cos i,ve still got my arch liners on and it's way up high in the wing anyway.

finally got my backbox on that i brought at the jumble, and made a de-cat pipe which i fitted at the same time.

bit of a crap pic of the de-cat...

it looks like it's sticking out loads on the pics but it doesn't actually come out further than the bumper, so i guess it's legal:heh:

i did have to cut the pipe off going in to shorten it and weld the pipe off the original backbox on it.
sounds nice, not too loud unless you really boot it:lol:

Looks good mate, get the T-Cut out though ;)

Thought about debadging it maybe?

yeah i need to start cleaning and waxing it now the summer's coming.
also need to try and t-cut the scratches out of the boot caused when my garage got broke into:sad:

i haven't polished it since last year and the white spot on the bumper is bird **** btw:lol:

are the badges just stuck on? or will there be holes behind them?

done a little bit to her today...

de-badged the tailgate

standard bonnet back on

and bump strips removed, which was a lot easier than i thought. took about 2 hours to get them and the glue off.

just gotta give her a wash and polish now.

easier than i thought, i used hot water to soak them as i pulled them off.
any bits of glue i had left stuck on there i just rubbed off with my thumb, a bit of t-cut after and job done.

a lot of people use a hairdryer to warm the glue up behind the strips which is probably easier and you don't scold your hands like i did:lol:

well i think i'm gonna try the airbox mod this weekend.

just pull hard on the plastic pipes in the airbox they pop off mate - 2min job

tab - want to do my glue lol

i don't think the glue on yours is ever coming off kev:lol:

maybe not but come on lol
