Its about time i sorted out the sound system in my astra. I'm currently running infinity reference components in the front, infinity reference co-ax in the back and a jbl sub.

My head unit amp doesn't provide enough volume so i want to hook up to an amp initially just for the front. I have a 400w jbl amp spare but the front speakers seem unable to handle the 53w from the head unit without distorting, so are these speakers going to cope with an amp? If not what do i need to replace them with?

Next a daft question but how do i go about power for the second amp? run another complete cable or can i get one cable splitting into 2 or something?

Lastly one of the rear speakers is blown :( any suggestions on a replacement set?

Cheers

hiya m8 infinitys are ok but i recomend diamond audio's kit its bang on:nod: u shud be able to power a second amp through your jbl amp and as for destorsion on the front speakers try turning the bass down on the unit as the sub can provide the deep tones and the speakers for the mid-high tones i sugest a set of components they sound dead clear if you mount them right! Hope this helps jim

ur front component speakers require more power than ur coaxials in the back, the 53watts from the head unit is not powerful enough. the fronts will defiantly benefit from a separate amp. sound deadening in the doors helps to reduce distortion as well as using high pass filters to cut out the bass nd let the sub do the work.

unless u hav a reali thick power cable its prob worth running another cable to th boot.

wat size are ur coaxils? 13cm or 6x9?
