could anyone put up a pic of were the idle control valve is as me car is runing all ova the place runing at 1,000revs then going up ta 2,000revs on its own... if i clean this will it run normal again a lad i no told me how to do this just i dont have a clue were it is :doh: any help plzzzzz :beer:
 
mine used to do the exact same thing, its a bit arkward to get at, its easier to take the sfi box off, as lee said just follow the pipe on the right hand underside of the sfi box, its a silver cylinder shaped, theres 2 pipes and a wire that clips in, i just soaked mine in wd40 for half hour then poured all the crap out and it ran fine ever since
 
rite i did wat was needed doing an its still running a lil high not as bad as it was but would i have to get it tunes to sort this problem out??:redface:

had the same problem and my mate said the first thing you should try is get the car on a a or b road thrash the **** out of your motor for a good 20 mins petrols cheaper than a new icv it worked on mine give it a try and its fun

i gave it a lil spin already not trashing it tho an still nuffin? or do i just hae to let the gases or wat ever get bk into it

sorry mate dont really know much about cars im a novice just telling you what worked on mine a good hard thrash it was explained to me its like a deisel you know when you see a deisel rev hard you see some black smoke come out of the exhaust thats the carbon deposits thats what your trying to get rid off
 
when i worked at vx we cleaned out the idle air control valve,cleaned the throttle body as this has a breather that gets clogged up,and also carried out a mod on the throttle postion sensor,all of this was done at the same time,but to set up the tps properly you did need tech 2 diag machine,the rest you can do yourself
 
ok lads ivthis problem sorted now the idle control valve was really badly full of ****e but anyway its running bk down to 1,000revs again so its all good:) cheers for all ur help lads :beer: and a mate who might read this nice 1 :cool:
