Wow they've gone up in price! Depending on how cheap you really want to go, continental contimotion are a cheap tyre... and show it in there preformance

Probably just my area. Nothing is cheap here!

I'm keeping a running total on this, as the aim was to get back on 2 wheels for £1000 all in (including insurance). Probably unlikely!

Bike purchase price: £535
Front tyre (supply, fit & balance) Bridgestone BT023: £109

Current spend: £644

The garaged also noticed a couple of issues...

Ones I had spotted:
-front brake pads low
-front brake disk thin
-r/h fork seal weeping

Ones I hadn't spotted:
-rear shock worn
-chain too tight
-slight play in front wheel bearing

Given my lid a clean, will have to replace it soon though as it's old.

Also went over my leather jacket with boot polish. Close enough, right?

The tally thus far...

Bike purchase price: £535.00
Transport (local, own van): £0.00
Front tyre (supply, fit & balance): £109.00
Insurance: £211.40
Tax (12 months): £62.00
Clothing (already owned): £0.00

Current spend: £917.40

The biggest expense from that list will be the disks.

Single disc set up could probably get a TRW disc for 50-75 quid. The shock could be expensive depending on what you want to do with it..

Ahhh, single front disk? That makes it a bit cheaper then.

Yeah it's a single.

I'm really thinking it's not the right type of bike for me, the garage told me about 5 times to take it easy on the new tyre. What do they think I'm going to be doing with it? Lol

Standard practice really to tell the customer to go easy for first 100 miles. It's due to the releasing agent they use when moulding a tyre although Bridgestone don't use one. And we have most tyres to the edges on road test at work even from new...
