Sadly my father-in-law passed away in January of this year leaving behind a red Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Cabriolet in his garage which has not been driven from the past fifteen years. Unfortunately, I cannot get it out of the garage to take some photos but it has never suffered any accident damage. It has only ever had one owner and has done about 60000 miles. It was first registered in 1993. It will obviously require a lot of work to make it roadworthy but it would be a shame to see it scrapped. It is located in Nottingham. If anyone is interested you can call me on Thanks for reading.
The car has covered approximately 60,000 miles. The MOT expired in 2010 and it hasn't been driven since. The registration is K444RAY and is probably worth more than the car itself. If no interest the car will probably be scrapped and I estimate the value to be around £400.
The car is block red, not metallic. I believe the water pump may require changing. The car wasn't deliberately stored, it just fell into disuse and as the car hasn't moved in over ten years the tyres and brakes will need attention and I guess everything will need to be flushed out. To get some pictures I will need to clear out the garage. i will try and do that on my next visit, probably next week.
The registration is K444RAY and that must be worth at least £400 and as the local scrapyard is offering £400, an offer in the region of £800 would be accepted.
And a few more. I couldn’t get a compressor to reach the front wheels to inflate the tyres and so couldn’t get it out of the garage. Next time I will take a foot pump and hopefully I may be able to move it outside. The paintwork is generally good but would benefit from some T-cut and a polish.
