Mk3oc Stand Feedback -
I think this year is the most organised we've been as a club, we're slowly getting the equipment we need and want to make it a nice stand. Plus we were more on the ball with the awards, although there's plenty of changes I want to make there, to make it easier and fairer for voters, we may even do an online vote next year which can be multiple choice, if you guys thing that would be any good for you all.
But overall as a club we have plenty more ideas for improvement next year based on knowing what the new venue is like and where we're located.
The club BBQ worked very well, it meant more of us were cooking and eating together rather than being split apart, and everyone clearly had a great time and got on very well. Was great to see new faces with us too!
Despite not having a lot of cars, mostly down to personal circumstances for a large number of members who usually attend in their Mk3's, the stand still got a lot of attention from the cars that did show up, and as a club there was plenty of us and we had a great time.
Next year can only get better as we will have more cars and can improve the club stand from what we know this year.
LMF / VBOA Show Feedback -
Having been at the meeting where Steve at LMF first announced to us what he was proposing, I knew it was going to be good. Steve is a fantastic guy, and had pretty much hit the nail on the head from the start, and it only improved from there. He's always been approachable and very open to ideas and feedback and this has shown over all the planning involved.
Obviously one of the big topics of the weekend was the toilets, personally I couldn't really complain about them at all. I never had to queue for more than about 30 seconds, and they were kept clean. A few more wouldn't hurt for next year, and the possibility of them being emptied twice a day on Saturday as they did seem pretty full by the end of the day!
As Kev mentioned, some lighting would have been good, especially in the toilet areas. Although it wasn't a massive issue as I'm sure 99% of people owned a torch of some sort.
I think they need to allocate some entrances into the square, to prevent people from having to drive through other club stands (mostly ours it seems) to get through. Club stands all seemed a reasonable size, we can always ask for more space for next year though when we let them know our numbers. I quite liked the square layout, it meant visitors could walk right round and see everything, and the open space in the middle didn't really bother me.
The band on in the evening were pretty good, and I know Steve booked Dodgems to be there, unfortunately they never turned up, but something like that would be great to have as a confirmed booking for next year.
Security onsite were fantastic, had a great presence always looking round and they were very friendly and approachable.
Other than that, I am struggling for any more constructive criticism as it was a fantastic weekend, plenty to do, plenty to see and just a fantastic weekend.
