which is better

i am currently running an f16cr box. as its proving difficult to find a 16wr or an 18wr i'm asking generally which is better.
f16...f18 or f20. as it seems to be easier to get hold an f20.

and would an f23 fit?

I don't think the f 23 will fit because its hydraulic clutch and you'll need cable and it also uses a cable shift instead of a mechanical linkage

An f23 mounts differently too

An f18cr would be fine for you, people use them with v6s with no problem and I never had a problem with the XEV, tbh not really heard of anyone have problems with them, most people just bin them in favour of f20s that come with the XE or the f28. There's plenty of good low mileage f18s available oh and they are pretty much geared like the f20

Personally id go for a wr f16 from a 1.5 16v daewoo nexia, a nice low mileage one will be nice and tight, the diffs in f18's like to explode and try and do a runner out the bottom plate..

E, he's running a c20ne not a 300brake LET if they can take the grunt of v6s and tuned XEVs then it'll be more than adequate for an 20NE! Mine was sweet as pulling over 140bhp on the XEV, and I kept it when I broke the sport in case I needed it in a future project!

They break for the fun of it, they stopped using them in the vec b's cos they were that bad and changed to the f23 instead, ive seen that many f18's with exploded diffs that i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole..

so stay clear of f18s just in case the diff goes bye bye?
f20's are similar to what i'm running already but are a decent build of box.
try and find a wide 5th set and change it/try and find a wide box?
