here is short story of my GSi xe,
kw street coilovers
brake convertion from turbo, with ate powerdiscs and ferodo premier pads +valvoline dot 5.1
stainless steel exhaust from downpipe/exhaust minifold with supersprint backbox,
K&n panel filter
modified airbox with additional air feed

now its time to do smth with engine, problem is aint got enought money for
TB's, camshafts or let convention.

was thinking about lexmaul minifold, but cant find it for half a year in my country. e-bay prices go to high for me 300-400 eur

was thinking about chip/ actually about remap'ing and fuel preasure increasing, would it work? or what should i go for?

thanks for help, all comments are welcome.

P.s really need help cos dont know what do to , or even if its worth do to smth at all.

Regards
Edgar

unfortunatly it sounds like you have done the basic/cheapest mods already

set of cams will see a nice increase as will a better manifold if stuill running standard one. i like the SBD manifolds as i have seen them gert very very good results and make a huge difference

What country are you in and how much is your car lowered?

I didn't know they did coilovers for mk3s...

How low is your car? Looks like its been slammed on its **** lol

it was around 40-50 for front, now its around 30 only (i suppose)

SBD exhaust manifold ?
i think it wont give some increasment without TB's camshafts and all other goodies.

i noticed one thing concerning their chip tuning
"Group N replacement ECU 170bhp/173lb ft

MBE ECU that runs ten times faster than the stock unit and uses a throttle angle control rather than relying on the readout from the airflow meter.

downsides ->
Well, for road applications a lack of idle valve control means you need to keep the revs up until the engine is warm enough to tick over."

interesting

the grp N kit only makes 175bhp with the manifold that you say you wont buy!

plus the kit removes the airflow meter which is part of it.

ive said it before, but i'll say it again. the standard head will flow 230bhp worth of air, untouched. the standard cams will flow 200bhp worth of air, the crank, rods and pitons will rev to 8000rpm safely, in good condition, with arp rod bolts. the standard valves and hydraulic lifters are also safe at those rpm.

so basically you have an engine, from the factory, that in standard mechanical form will spin fast enough and flow enough air (with certain mods) to reach 200bhp.

all thats stopping it processing that much air is the inlet system air flow meter, induction hoses, throttle body and inlet manifold. and the exhaust manifold and exhaust system. and also the ability of the ecu to fuel that much air.

so you should get a few ideas where the biggest gains are to come from.

unfortunately for you none of those changes are budget mods, and all the budget mods that you can afford will actually add up to MORE money but LESS power than the big giant steps in tuning.

what about nitrous oxide??

with 50bhp jets which a standard xe will take no problems at all, you will get a genuine 50bhp and 50lb/ft of torque anywhere in the rev range without sacrificing drivability or economy! it will cost you around £600 for a wizards of nos kit (the same price as a powercap, sbd manifold and a k&N filter) and theres various upgrade options to keep most power crazy people happy.
