A tip from me is to slot a piece of metal between the bulkhead and power steering bottle to protect it
Pete i'm in no rush for one so waiting for the right one at the right price ;)
If your car has no throttle cable (2.0 turbo, 2.2, later 1.8 and some other engines) there is a spare grommet on the drivers side that can be seen on the bulkhead when the cubby hole is removed otherwise you need to drill a hole behind the glovebox
Get them from Maplins, this will probably be best http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46413&criteria=UK59P&doy=10m4 You will need 2
It needs to be wired in series so cut the alarm indicator wires and then solder the diode in with the band end (you should notice one end of the diode...
Your alarm is obviously ment to be wired to the side light not indicators. It doesn't matter where you connect them up it will still do the same
You can still wire them up to the indicators but with some 5amp diodes connected up
When I first got my gsi the tc light was on and there was a faulty solinoide (sp) under the throttle body, bloody expensive to fix also
In that situation the light would come on and go out as normal but as you moved it would come on as you took your foot off the throttle
Sorry i've only just looked atthe link
You say you have central locking already? If so thats not really the right kit for you. It may be possible to link it into your fatory locking though
If you already have locking i'd recomend something like THIS or THIS
Guys to fit these remote locking kits to your cars with central locking no extra wires are needed. On the diagrams you should have one that says negative pulse, follow that and use Brown/Red on the car to lock and Brown/White on the car to unlock
Locking wires will be Brown/Red, Brown/White, Brown, Black/Yellow and Black/Red and maybe Black/Blue but I can't remember how the deadlock worked on the MK3
Yeah thats where I mean for the kickpanel and no you didn't remove the glovebox for nothing as you can pick up pretty much everything else from there including a fuel pump immobiliser
Lets make my first post a good one
Although you can pick the locking wires up from where they come out the door on the passenger side it's easier IMO to remove the kickpanel on the passenger side and connect them down with more room to work in
They aren't in the loom that runs under the...
