First update in a few weeks from me...
Had a CV boot give up the other week - took ****ing ages to clean all the grease out of the brakes/arch/wheel
Good as new though...
Birchy used some of this stuff as TOTB as he didn't have an oil cooler fitted - conisidering I still haven't gotten around to sorting my cooler either it made sense to chuck a can in - has really helped too, much less crap coming out of my breather now!
However it hasn't mattered too much as i've had the Signum to roll around in for a couple of weeks! When driving gently it can do this!
However 100mph + cruise control has been the norm - managed 10.4mpg on a really good thrash

diesel V6 consumption = ****. But I haven't had to pay for the fuel and its given the Ashtray a nice rest!
So with the Astra out of daily service for a bit I ordered up some heat wrap to do the manifold finally. Trial fitted to work out lengths with it dry...
Cut the lengths I wanted for the primaries.
Then soaked the wrap and attatched it all, temp fitted with cable ties...
Once done it was a bit steamy - and ****ing smelly! Can really feel the benefit of it though - bay temps are way down and you can actually touch the bonnet without burning your hand after a run now!
I've also managed to squeeze in to the garage backwards, leaving me tonnes of space at the front of the car if I need to work on it
Which paved the wa yfor the welcome return of my little helper!
Then today some new shiny bits turned up from Kelsport! Wanted a new heatshield to cover the top of the manifold where the heat wrap looks a bit ****ty

The stainless rocker boths etc will go on when I get my new rocker & belt cover soon...
Looks good in place!
I also purchased a new aux pulley last week - going to stick it on at the weekend when I have 20 mins spare

Its a TX Autosport one boguht via JBI Motorsport (trade on eBay) - seems to be very good quality and weighs as much as a gnats ****.
Now I have three big jobs to do ASAP...
1) Crack in manifold has re-surfaced despite a tonne of sealant - so manifold needs to come back off for welding.
2) Skirts are going to come off - i'll need to fil lthe holes in the sills I had to drill to fit them so will probably do the lower part of the panels in matt black

So my Steinmetz skirts will be for sale next week with any luck...
3) The crack in my floor under the drivers seat has unfortunately re-crack, a few mm over from where I welded it up previously - except this time its ****ing huge and is a major major worry tbh - hopefully going to get the car in to the garage next week so that they can straighten the floor out and weld a plate in to give it some strength back. I'll grab some pics in the next day or too but put it this way: it allows a LOT of water in to the car
