branded mobile phones

Tomorrow im going to buy a HTC desire, i want it on tmobile but im not sure if they are locked/branded to tmobile?

Been told all carphone warehouse phones are unlocked and are a better option because the software is running as it should be rather than to how the network wants it?

Basically what difference will this make? will i even notice? Sadly the carphone warehouse wont do the same deal as tmobile direct Orange seems to be the best deal with them but the internet is only 500mb where as with tmobile its 3gb

As it stands im going with tmobile but want to know if its going to cause any problems with the phone being branded? (which i assume it will be)

Shouldn't make a difference to the operation of the phone, although you could easily update the software as it can be downloaded from HTC direct iirc

take a look over at www.xda-developers.com, you can flash custom software onto your phone and loads more, they know their stuff on that forum

Agreed. I've got an HTC Touch Pro 2 from Vodafone... It's unlocked, but Vodafone had locked down some features like themes.. so I only had a really bad red & white theme. Found a new ROM on there with some decent themes & it works great
