cavalier 1.8 8v

Been offereed cavalier 10m mot and 3m tax. Car has core plug problens. 1 on rear of block is leaking. How big a job is this to.put rite.and a rough price would.be appreciated

Wouldn't bother TBH. It's a big block engine so just bang in a 2.0 (8v/XE or Ecotec) or a 1.8 16v

Engine change for a core plug issue? Seriously!?

Core plugs don't cost much at all, a few quid each at the most I should think. There are tools to remove them, but you can just bash a screwdriver into them and pry them out. New ones just tap in with a socket pretty much.

I bought the cavi regardless of core plug leaking. Defo jus a core plug. Center has rotted out it. Car cleans up well.
Word of warning I will be on the hunt for leather and door cards etc lol
