elo guys . as you may have seen before . iv had an annoying leccy problom for along time . and still havent sorted it. battery light is always on dim . and the more you turn on or say put the brakes on ... the battery light will get brighter yet the rest of the stuff like windows and headlights will go slower / dimmer ... now i know its not the alternator or battery ... checked that and all is good ... i have all the interior out of her atm and found that the ECU was loose in the car (not bolted to the chassis) does the outer casing need to be bolted to the chassis for earthing reasons? ... im starting to get lost on this bloody problem now ... i just cant find the damn fault ... can earth straps get old??? (i suppose they can) and if so where can i buy some... really anyhelp would be great as im just about to start throwing bricks at the damn thing lol

ECU earth????

The ECU gets earths from the wiring loom, there's probably half a dozen of them at least, the casing isn't electrically connected at all.

Yeah earth cables can get old mate and have you made sure your starter motor is not stickin on because if it is it will make it like a dynamo which is like and old alternator maybe worth a look also try puttin a jump lead off the neg terminal of the battery to earth and see if that makes a difference
