engine is a 1.6 8v x16szr, pulled off from junction and it sorta held back and then jerked as it picked up again, does this any point in rev range. did bring up engine management light but its gone out after a few secs, done it today aswell few times pulling off under load. what was cause it to jerk / hold back??

lamba?

could be over fuelling.

i've had similar thing with my parents car..sometimes i wont start at all or start to run on '3' etc....i tried my old 1.4 throttle body(no change)/known working dis module(no change)/cleaned egr(bit better but tbh no change)

now i'm trying the coolant sensor, as known for 'going down'. they dont always bring up a code. and it makes the engine run rich. as at most they cost £10 its a fairly cheap thing to try.

as a rough guide

yeah i know about the CTS. but it starts fine and 1st time so im ruling that out, it does smell abit rich from the exhaust, thats why i said lanba, will see if i can flash any codes off i guess. just crap at reading them lol

try and flash out the codes, if the eml has come on then the code might of been saved

it brought some codes up but i struggled to read them. anyone know where abouts the CTS is on the 1.6 8v. had a look on the front, as thats where they norm are. and couldnt see it

ok googled the lambda and describles the same problems im having, holding back / jerky. so think ill replace that, car has done 110k so id say it prob is that

just a map dave.

And Cts if its spi then its down the back of the inlet manifold on the drivers side, and its the one with 2 wires going to it.

If its mpi then its below the coil pack.

cant get the video to upload mate

fitted a CTS to see if that would cure it as they was only cheap and it wasnt that. so got a new bosch lambda and its all running nice again :) problem sorted

cheers fella  was becoming a nightmare, it cut out in traffic and just cranked over for awhile before it started again lol. and stalling pulling away onto islands

Any time mate hope it stays great for you at this time of year.

and its doing exactly the same again, was fine all weekend, now plaing up again, try the EGR?

Could it be the fuel pump or relay/filter.
As my old xel was doing this and changed a lot of parts.
Plugs/coil pack and leads are also know for this mate.

ive took the egr off and cleaned that up with carb cleaner. little plunger on it moves nicely too, and put some carb cleaner down the inlet where it mounts. it had build up of carbon around the 2 ports so chipped them off with flat head and carb cleaner. seems to be running fine again, but were see monday
