Well, as a couple of you know ive bought a new car :D

ive bought Nikola's 1.8 gsi, drove down to gosport on saturday to take a look and did a deal with Marc, cheers mate!

went to leave gosport, got to the petrol station, filled up with fuel, went to start it and nothing, battery was completly flat!!! so called Marc up and he very kindly came to give me another jump start!

after that drove all the way back to Bracknell with no real fault.

as you can see from the pics below the car had 3 17" wheels and 1 15", so at 60mph+ the vibrations where terrible, so as soon as i got home i swapped the wheels over from my 1.6.

only other problem i had was that the car had 2 sets of locking wheel nuts on and i only had one key, the two rear wheels had 3 locking nuts on each one! so after breaking a few tools trying to get them off i went to see my mate at humphries who had a left threaded socket that got them off no problem!

.. so these are the only pics i have atm, going to take some more of how it is now

cars in good nick with only a few things i wanna get sorted, the rear arches is one of them. the other is that the throttle pedal moves from left to right, i remember someone saying somehting about this a while ago and said it was the little bush that needed replacing.. can anyone confirm this?

the MFD doesnt work and displays the F for fault, but have another so will swap that and see if it works.. also need to change the dash bulbs as some have blow!

so things i plan to do.

-swap over wheels - done
-swap over mirrors
-change MFD
-fit sub and amp
-clean!!!
-sump gakset
-rear arches
-change pass side rear light as its cracked
-work out why the interior light doesnt work
-polish to try and get the drivers door to match a bit better

and most importantly ENJOY!!

more updates soon!!

I love that car, not sure why, just looks so smart :) Really like the grill too

Nice car!

thanks mate, looks 100% better with my cesaro's on rather than the 17"'s (will have two 17" tyres for sale soon though)

going to swap the mirrors over tonight and it will look even better :)

I think the m3's look smart on that, maybe because I have them too in that colour, that's the same colour as my car! but personal taste :)

cracking work and good buy :)

the m3 mirrors are horrible mate, they are like a chequered(sp) flag affect, ill get a pic up in a min.. i have ph1 leccy mirrors on my 1.6 that would look better but the GSI doesnt seem to have the loom :(

I thought all GSi's had leccy leccy mirrors & windows as standard...

To answer your question about the peddle. Yes there is a bush in it. Better of just changing the peddle tbh.

My 1.8 gsi has got elec windows and mirrors.
Ill just go make sure tho lol

Its got elec ones on it and they did work but i cant see the plug without taking the door card off.

great buy and cracking colour mate, so we doing a deal on the ceramic blue grill off your old astra, the reiger one

Glad you got it matey :cool::cool::nod:

Love the grill,i want it in fact

You just need a nice Lexmaul 4 branch now, :tape::heh:

lol cheers guys, ill have to whip the door card off and see if the plugs are there... is the peddle easy to change?? is the pedal box not like one-peice?

reno, yes mate will will have to sort out some thing for it, ive already sold the gsi kit that i bought for my 5 door!

mate!! im so glad you bought this car! would have been a shame to see it get breaked!!!

i know mate, i really liked it since he joined the site but just couldnt afford it, then i started looking and did a quote and it was within budget so had to be saved.. nice to know i own 1 of only 150 left :)

:)

right well i put my leccy mirrors on yesterday and even found the plugs for them!!!

i took the blank out from where the switch should go but there is nothing behind it.

im guessing ill have to take the switch out of the GLS and take the door card off the GSI to find the connector, right?

off to give it a wash soon so will get some pics :)

If the plugs to connect the mirrors to was there, the plug for the switch is most likely tucked down behind the door card as it comes of the came loom :) just whip the door card off and have a look :)
