Hi I thought I would start a diary on my recent purchase. Not sure what I am going to do to it so any inspirations gratefully received. It's a 1.6 8 valve with a few rust spots but nothing serious ( I hope) lol.
Please let me know what you think and any ideas you have. Cheers

looks in good condition , start by removing the red strip
 
To be honest i wasnt sure wether to leave then on or not. I think youre right though. Think i'll leave the bump strips on.

if you leave the bumper strip on colour them , it will look better

I reckon a new set of alloys would completely transform the whole look of the car, always a good start.

Clear wing repeaters.

If it were mine i'ld be on the look out for a cabby's leather interior :)
 
Nice car mate, i've got one the same colour that i'm breaking if you need any bits, i also have the cover for when the roof is down,

Thanks Ben Have been looking for some alloys but no one seems to be selling any

Nice car dude. Where are you based? I'm in the middle of doing my cabby up as well. I've just lowered mine, makes loads of difference. I've got some drive shafts, but need new splines as I cross threaded them! doh!
 
Hi mate i'm in Ipswich I've got some springs to pick up for it but havent had the time yet
 
I replaced shocks and springs with new ones, just to be on the safe side. Lowered 40mm, but wish I'd lowered 60mm, maybe next time. I'm miles away unfortunately...
 
so i see I'm going 40mm sometimes have a fair weight in the boot so darent go 60 lol
 
I was thinking of going black angel eyes and black lexus as well. Are there many of us from Ippy ?
 
The intake pipe is missing between the air box and the scoop at the slam panel. It will be drawing in hot air when you are sat in traffic. Look about replacing it. Would be a few quid from scrappers. While your at it, might as well de-restrict the air box too. Will give it a little more go hopefully.

I think colour coding the strips is a good idea :)
 
Took the red stripes off the car today still trying to find a set of alloys for it it could do with a good polish now then paint the bump strips
